Article: Why Some Fragrances Smell Stronger Than Others

Why Some Fragrances Smell Stronger Than Others

You buy a fragrance, apply it, and by noon it's gone. Someone else is wearing something that fills the room. The difference isn't luck — it's four factors that almost never get explained clearly.

1. Concentration

More concentrate means more aromatic molecules per spray. An EDT might contain 8–12%. An EDP runs 15–20%. Concentration sets the ceiling.

2. Ingredient Quality

Premium materials have complex molecular profiles that project with remarkable persistence. Cheap substitutes fade quickly. This is why two EDPs at the same concentration can perform completely differently.

3. Formula Design

Fixatives slow evaporation of lighter molecules. Musks act as a carrier. Maceration time matters — proper maceration affects how materials release on skin.

4. Skin Chemistry

Drier skin absorbs and mutes fragrance. Apply unscented moisturizer to pulse points before fragrance, and stay hydrated.

The Synthesis

Strong, lasting fragrance is all four factors working together. Our discovery sets give you enough volume to properly assess longevity on your own skin.
