What does inspired by mean?

Each Petals & Smoke fragrance is a formula-built interpretation of a familiar scent direction. We use the reference to describe the inspiration and overall olfactive family, but Petals & Smoke is independent and not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by referenced designer or niche fragrance houses.

Are these the same formulas as the fragrances they reference?

No. We build our own interpretations from individual aromatic materials and refine each formula for opening, heart, drydown, projection, and everyday wearability.

Where do you ship?

We currently ship to the contiguous 48 U.S. states. We do not currently ship to Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, APO/FPO addresses, or internationally.

What is the return policy?

We accept returns on new, unopened, unused full-size bottles in their original packaging within 14 days of delivery. Opened or used fragrance bottles, discovery sets, samples, decants, final-sale items, and gift cards are not eligible for return.

Are Discovery Sets available?

Discovery Sets are coming soon. Join the Discovery Set waitlist for sample launches, scent previews, and early release notes before the first sampler edit opens.

How long do the fragrances last?

Wear time varies by scent, skin, climate, fabric, and application. Each formula is refined for a polished everyday wear experience rather than exaggerated performance claims.

How do I choose a scent?

Start with the inspiration line, scent notes, and wear profile on each product page. Not sure where to start? Email hello@petalsmoke.com with three fragrances you already wear, what you dislike, where you plan to wear the scent, and whether you prefer fresh, woody, sweet, floral, amber, smoky, or skin-close profiles. We will recommend a starting point.

Which size should I start with?

Choose 15 ml for testing or travel, 30 ml for daily rotation, 50 ml for a full-bottle commitment, and 100 ml when the scent is becoming a signature.

Are your fragrances alcohol-based?

Yes. Petals & Smoke fragrances are alcohol-based eau de parfum formulations unless a product page clearly states otherwise.

Can I spray fragrance on clothing?

You can, but always test first on an inconspicuous area. Fragrance can mark delicate, light-colored, or dry-clean-only fabrics.

How many sprays should I use?

Start with two to four sprays and adjust by scent, setting, fabric, climate, and personal preference. Stronger profiles usually need less.

How should I store my bottle?

Store fragrance away from heat, direct sunlight, and humidity. A cool, dry drawer or shelf helps preserve the scent profile longer.

Are bottles refillable?

Not currently. We are exploring more refill and lower-waste options for future releases.

Are gift cards or gift wrapping available?

Gift options are planned, but not available yet. For now, email hello@petalsmoke.com if you need help choosing a scent for someone else.

Are your fragrances vegan or IFRA-compliant?

We are building documentation carefully and do not publish blanket unsupported claims. If vegan status, allergen sensitivity, or formula documentation matters for your order, contact support@petalsmoke.com before purchasing.

Are your fragrances exact dupes?

No. Petals & Smoke creates independent, formula-built interpretations of familiar scent directions. References help shoppers understand the fragrance family, but the formulas are our own and we are not affiliated with the referenced brands.

What happens if my bottle arrives damaged?

Email support@petalsmoke.com within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and photos of the packaging and bottle. We will help make it right.
